    Dutch commercial broadcaster Pan European Radio, based in Harlingen, has at last found a suitable location for its 1 kW mediumwave transmitter that will carry the programmes of Radio Seagull and the tourist station Radio Waddenzee on 1602 kHz. A request for a construction permit has been submitted to the planners for a location at Finkum. Indications are that the request will be approved, as a local councillor says the site is justified from the point of view of landscaping and planning, the construction work would fall outside of environmental legislation, and there are no objections from immediate neighbours. It's hoped to get a quick decision, as the station is supposed to be on the air by 1 December in order not to forfeit its licence.
