    Radio Caroline returns for Easter
    credit: http://www.radiocarolinenews.blogspot.com

Following on from the highly successful 'Restricted Service Licence' broadcast done from the Ross Revenge, plans are afoot for the real Radio Caroline (not some people in Bristol pretending they are Radio Caroline) to broadcast again for Easter and next August.
Both times are significant for Radio Caroline, as it is important to celebrate the beginning of free radio in the UK. Radio Caroline started broadcasting in Easter 1964, and was attacked by the British Government (especially the DTI) in August 1967 and 1989.
The search is on for sponsors to pay for the Easter broadcasts. The Lottery grant used to pay for the broadcasts from Tilbury was used up in August, but the Lottery people may have more money they can give Radio Caroline, because lots of people buy tickets every week. Sometimes people buy lottery tickets twice a week. This is because you have to be in it to win it.There is also some confusion over rules from the Government about when Radio Caroline can broadcast.
We are informed that if a broadcast goes ahead for Easter, then one in August may not be allowed. This may be a deliberate Government policy to stop Caroline from rising to its previous standing within the listening community of the United Kingdom.
