1395 khz mw An Update

Just spoken to Ray Anderson and have his permission to put you all in the
picture regarding
1395. Apparantly Nozema engineers were on scene within an hour of when the
transmitter went down. The engineers are working on the fault right now. Ray
is
not sure what the main problem is as he has not had contact with the
engineers as yet. As to regards when the transmitter will be back on, he
cannot
confirm at this time. Could be back on tonight. Ray said that the output
this
morning should have been as good as 10 Gold when that station used the
frequency. I said that the power output was poor earlier this morning so
hopefully
that will be rectified as well. If Ray can get the same power as 10 Gold
did,
that'll do nicely.

In a reply from Erwin :
Ok, thanks for this clear explanation. But why are they say nothing on
the radio about this problem? Everytime I hear annoucements about 1395,
but it's not on air...

Well maybe Erwin it would spoil an otherwise perfect launch !! I'm sure
that 1395 when it comes back will be , ' Loud and Proud

Well it seems that the big l radio london's tx has failed as they are off the air on 1395 khz mw .
They were on the air till around 1pm uk time but nothing since. Info by readers have been posted at the link below.

Big L - Radio London to launch on 1395 kHz on 14 May

British commercial radio station Big L - Radio London has announced that it will launch its service on Saturday 14 May, and will use 1395 kHz (one of the Dutch frequencies licenced to Ruud Poeze, and formerly used by Radio 10 Gold). The station's website says:

"The new BIG L Radio London is planning to launch on Saturday 14th May, 2005 from brand new studios in Frinton-on- Sea, Essex. A star studded launch is lined up including a visit by Sir Cliff Richard OBE who will officially open the new BIG L studios. Many other stars will be attending including The Cheeky Girls who have specially recorded a new version of 'We Love the Pirate Stations' for the station."

"BIG L - RADIO LONDON presenters will include Mike Read, Michele Stephens, Randall Lee Rose and many others.

"An agreement has recently been reached to transmit on 1395 kHz as well as Sky digital channel 940."
