Radio Tashkent International: over and out
credit: Medianetwork Weblog Kai Ludwig writes: "In a letter received yesterday the editorial staff of Radio Tashkent International wrote that they expected the service to be entirely closed effective March 31. But now it seems that the foreign service ceased to exist already today, since the related audio streams do not work anymore. "Just checked and found that indeed both stream adresses, http://217.29.119.164:3079 and http://217.29.119.164:2129 , respectively, no longer connect to a server. So another one bit the dust. Wonder who will be the next one?" Andy Sennitt comments: It seems that Radio Tashkent International was doomed from the moment it switched off its shortwave transmissions on 1 January. In a remarkably frank statement on its English website, the station says "Unfortunately, due to the cut-off of short-wave broadcasting of RTI we have lost many [of] our listeners. There are only few who are able to listen to our programs in Internet. Therefore this fortnight we received few e-mail messages. They are from Spain, Morocco, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan." That statement was date 24 February, but suggests that the staff already knew the situation was grim. In fact, the audio streams linked from the English home page are still working - but for how much longer? |

credit: www.anoraknation.com Talk on anorakl forum is discussing Big L On 1395 From A Ship?? I am not normally one to start rumours but reading the Big L Forum, One of the staff members has hinted that Radio London may return from a ship which is currently in America, If this is true and they can come back with a reasonable power level it would suit me just fine |
