British DJ Johnnie Walker collects his MBE
Credit: Medianetwork Weblog : Popular British DJ Johnnie Walker collects his MBE Yesterday was a special day for popular British DJ Johnnie Walker, 60, as he went to Buckingham Palace to receive his MBE from Prince Charles. The MBE was awarded for his services to radio over a period of 40 years. Johnnie said that the Prince asked him about his time on Radio Caroline, to which he replied "I was a bit naughty, I disobeyed the law. It would seem I've been forgiven." Johnnie says he has now been in remission from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma for two years, after undergoing chemotherapy and an emergency operation in October 2003. He is on the air every weekday, as popular as ever, on BBC Radio 2. Johnnie Walker fan site |

Hello From TRI (The Radio Informer)
Welcome back to another T R I it's where i find stuff of intrest for the reader so lets start. Today i talk about interval signals yes thosetunes you get mainly on the shortwave bands that tells you what station your listening to. [Why Have An Interval Signal] I suppose years ago the shortwave dial was close together with to much broadcast so radio's didn't come with a digital read out just printed numbers on the screen. So tuning in before each hour the interval signals would kick in for 5 minutes giving you the listner the chance to find and know your on the right frequency. Here is some well known ones you must of heard on the radio. Radio Slovakia Radio Romania BBC World Service Isuggest visiting : http://www.intervalsignalsonline.com/ For a whole lot more in real player mode or http://www.dxing.info/audio/ This has been hello from TRI signing of ... |
