RTL FM becomes “Sky Radio, the Christmas station”
credit: http://blogs.rnw.nl/medianetwork/ November 25th, 2006, 11:45 UTC by Andy Dutch broadcaster RTL FM, which continues to be played out of the Sky Radio studio, has assumed a temporary role as a station broadcasting continuous Christmas music. The RTL website announces that “RTL presents Sky Radio the Christmas Station. 24 hours a day the best from 50 years of Christmas music”. The station continues to be carried on most cable systems in the Netherlands , as well as online - but for many weeks now its 128 kbps Web stream has been distorted, and remains so under the new format. The future of RTL FM is still unclear - it now has only a 1% market share, but RTL insists that the station will be sold rather than closed. |
