New pictures of Dutch radio stations on the Web
credit: http://medianetwork.blogspot.com![]() New pictures of Dutch radio stations on the Web A large number of photos have been posted on the Internet of the Big L - Radio London mediumwave site at Trintelhaven, and the arrival of Light Vessel No. 8 in Harlingen where it is to be fitted out for use by Radio Waddenzee/Radio Seagull. The photos are courtesy of Hans de Swan, Bert M and Peter Timmerman, and may be downloaded and circulated without further permission. The page is at http://217.121.211.176/overdrive/radiowaddenzee/index1.htm Also of interest, Radio 10 Gold has published on its website photos of some of its DJ's standing inside the mediumwave transmitter on 1008 kHz, which was switched off last Wednesday evening (22 June) to enable one of the tubes to be replaced. I have also been inside a 500 kW mediumwave transmitter, and it's quite an experience! ![]() Radio 10 Gold # posted by Andy @ 09:12 UTC |

ALGERIA
Check out www.mediumwave.info for the latest medium wave news. ALGERIA Of the 3 RTA outlets on LF, viz. Béchar 153 kHz 2 x 1000 kW - Ouargla 198 kHz 2 x 1000 kW - Tipaza 252 kHz 2 x 750 kW, only RTA-1 Tipaza puts a strong signal, day & night. Signal levels simply cannot compare: Tipaza being like a local station, particularly if received in the south (to a point that even the K9AY is unable to "separate" it from RTÉ 252 at times), Béchar 153 is really bad here, not that bad in the south, and Ouargla 198 is particularly poor (DX like!) here underneath the BBC R4, which dominates the channel in the south too, meaning only a directional antenna can receive RTA 198. So my question is: does anyone know the actual powers used at both Béchar & Ouargla? I don't think that, even if being used with directional antennae, their signals would be so bad (by the way, the audio is also on the weak side...).
